Tyson Foods, one of the largest producers and suppliers of chicken, beef, pork and processed foods in the world, was founded in 1935 and is headquartered in Arkansas, USA. Tyson Foods sells well in the USA and more than 100 countries and regions. It is also a strategic partner of many international catering brands and leading retail companies. It has more than 400 companies and offices around the world and employs approximately 120,000 employees. In 2020, Tyson Foods ranks 287th on the Fortune Global 500 list. As a New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) listed company, it has a turnover of $42.405 billion in 2020 and a brand value of $8.417 billion, ranking 3rd in the Brand Ranking.

Since its birth, Tyson Foods always insist on “Creating great food” as its mission. Food safety and quality management are the core concepts of the brand, which have been integrated into the entire food production chain to ensure the standardization of every step.

Based on the high requirements for food safety, Tyson has the perfect operation system and digital system. With the rapid development in the business field, the digital platform is constantly upgrading and iterating. In 2021, to realize the data integration, business process reengineering, and platform unification, Tyson and MTC launched the SAP Growing project, aiming to optimize cost management, unify the data platform, and realize the refined management of the group.

On account of MTC’s rich digital management experience in agriculture and food, Tyson will achieve more efficient operation management and more accurate data analysis. Through the optimization project, Tyson Foods will realize the following points :

  • Establish the cost accounting system covering the entire industry chain of feed, breeding, slaughter, and deep processing.
  • Unified ERP management platform to realize process reengineering and data integration.
  • Build a scalable SAP system based on the promotion needs of the new factory, and realize the unified process and data.

Nowadays, agricultural and food companies ride out the digital transformation, however, the foundation of the transformation is how to create value in the supply chain and how to use business advantages to innovate. This is also the direction that MTC will explore with Tyson in the future.

MTC will also keep the rigorous and responsible attitude to help Tyson Foods achieve digital management platform optimization and create value consistently.
